I had a project at work recently that led me to gathering and compiling a pretty extensive list of all the independently-owned coffee shops and cafes across the state. I figured this would be the perfect place to share that list with the masses. My philosophy is to always choose local over chain -- to support our neighbors over billionaires and I definitely don't support wage theft and Union busting (Boycott Starbucks).
